Gravidstyrka is not about counteracting weight gain during pregnancy or getting into previous clothes as soon as possible after birth. It is about strengthening the woman from within and increasing her understanding of what happens to her joints and muscles when her body creates a new life and at the same time prepares her body to give birth. Gravidstyrka is about empowering women through proper movement and giving her awareness within her body. Our goal is to help women:
Gravidstyrka is also about building a stable foundation. A stable foundation is a strong core to reduce the strain on separated abdominal muscles and the connective tissue that holds them together. This course is also about learning to find and activate the pelvic floor muscles to facilitate healing after birth. Gravidstyrka also teaches good posture and belly breathing to promote health, which are important to be able to train correctly and safely during pregnancy.

- Get to know her body as it changes week by week.
- Learn how to activate the pelvic floor and core as to not unnecessarily strain the pregnant belly.
- Understand the importance of good posture while pregnant - both in everyday life and during exercise.
- Increase understanding of what is happening in the body - muscularly and hormonally during the different trimesters.
- Move and lift safely, both during exercise and in everyday life.
- Relieve some pregnancy ailments such as nausea, fatigue, joint loosening, and back and joint pain.
- Increase self-confidence and physical condition to help cope with birth.
- Build strength and stamina to recover more easily after giving birth.
- Challenge the notion of what a woman can physically handle during pregnancy.
